Traditional Funerals

A traditional funeral is one in which the deceased is present for viewing. During the viewing friends and family members can pay their respects and acknowledge the loss. This is followed by a funeral ceremony, which may be conducted at the funeral home or a church.

Limited Funerals

A limited funeral service offers the same services as the traditional funeral service with the exception the ceremony concludes at the funeral home or church. Services at the cemetery are not held. In this type of service the family normally remains to visit with friends at the funeral home or church.

Grave Side Services

A graveside service offers the same services as the traditional funeral with the exception the ceremony are conducted at the cemetery.

Cremation

Many people believe that by choosing cremation they are limiting their options. In fact, this is not true. Some families hold a traditional service with the body present. Only after the funeral ceremony is completed is the body cremated. Or cremation occurs first and a memorial service is held afterwards. When a memorial service is held the cremains are usually displayed in a cremation urn. The urn is placed in a place of prominence with flowers and pictures nearby. In either situation the community is able to participate and share the loss with surviving family members. It is the being of the grief process.
