Obituary

Elvin Smith

84 a resident of West Fork, Arkansas, passed away August 8, 2014 at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born October 3, 1929 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the son of Willie and Mary Josephine Rorie Smith.

He was a member of the New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church. Elvin retired from the Arkansas State Forestry Commission, was a life long cattle farmer and Co-Founder of the Stilwell Sale Barn in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Newell Smith, Delton Smith and Melvin Smith and three children Alfred Smith, Dale Smith and John Cooley. Elvin is survived by his wife Betty Smith of the home and his children Terri Lynne McNaughton and her son Don E. McNaughton, Darrel Cooley, David Cooley, Mary Matthews, Marie Lee and Cecilia Daniels; nephew John Smith and wife Tammy Smith; several grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and lots of friends.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2014 - 2:00 P.M. at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church near Prairie Grove, Arkansas with burial in McDonald Cemetery near Hogeye, Arkansas.
