Garland Eugene Smith
Age 77 a resident of Lincoln, passed away November 21, 2016 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born February 14, 1939 in Summers, the third child of William Fred and Elsie Whitely Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Ann and their two sons: Michael Smith of Arizona and Randy and Gina Smith of Texas; their grandchildren Donovan Smith of Texas, Megan Smith of the United Kingdom and Alex Smith of Ohio; his brothers and sisters: Howard and Ruby Smith of Fayetteville, JoAnne and Carl Reeves of Prairie Grove, Barbara Jean and Jim McClain also of Prairie Grove, Linda Sue Henderson of Vallejo, California and Donna Faye and Howard Umberson of Destin, Florida.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday November 23, 2016 10:00 A.M. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, with burial in Beaty Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held.

I would like to express my condolences to the family and friends of Garland Smith. The loss of a loved one is never easy and feels so unnatural. That is because we all have the desire to live forever. Our loving Creator has promised that he will one day do away with death (Revelation 21:3,4) and we will have the opportunity to live forever in a paradise (Psalms 37:10,11). There you can welcome your loved ones back (John 5:28,29a). May those verses bring you some comfort in your time of mourning.

Garland was a great uncle. I have so many memories of this kind and wonderful man.
He was a great builder,he has left his mark with the wonderful homes that he built in the northwest Arkansas area. Many people will fondly remember him when they walk into their homes that he built.

I am so sorry to hear of Garland's passing. He was always so sweet to me as a little girl, and always had the best smile! I have very fond memories of him and spending time at his home with Ann & Randy. He was very good to my Dad who worked with him for many, many years which I will always be thankful for. He was the first person I ever knew whose birthday was Valentine's Day and I thought that was so cool...will always be reminded of him on that day!
