Tributes

i send my love and prayers to Scott's family. Scott and I were in 1st grade together and graduated together in 1971. We didn't see each Other often, but always felt he was a true friend. God Bless Ruth and the entire family. I am unable to be there Monday, but will be there in spirit.

I don't remember meeting Scott in person, although he says we did meet at one time, many years ago. (Ruth, Scott's wonderful wife, and I were classmates.) I really meet Scott through FaceBook and the sharing of his cancer journey. His journey has inspired me to love deeply, daily, and the never take life for granite. I wish for Ruth and his family peace during this time of reflection and that the many memories will be of comfort for them. Scott was a GREAT role model me so many. The heavenly choir just got stronger as Scott joined it.

So sorry to hear about Scott. I have known him since we rode the school bus together as kids. One of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Ruth and family, I know that Scott is proud of you and loves you as you love him. His life and legacy continue thru your lives and thru the lives of all of us whom he touched. Ruth, I especially want to thank you for allowing us to share those special few days of good laughs and good memories. For a time, we were all twenty-year-olds again. “Friends come into our lives, and friends leave our lives. But friends never leave our hearts. And best friends always get to stay in the best places in our hearts.” - John Simmons

Scott's memorial was very nice! I am so thankful for the opportunity to watch live. Harley spoke so eloquently and it was so nice to hear Ruth talking with him. Scott will be missed deeply he truly gave my family some extra courage as we fought our own cancer battle with our Momma. He is such an inspiration to her, he gave her encouragement and advise, he helped her to not feel alone in her fight. I am grateful to him for doing that for Momma and I know he will always have a special place in her heart. See you soon Scott!
