Roberta Bates
Obituary
Roberta Anne (Blair) Bates went home to be with her savior Tuesday July 26, 2016. She has joined her mother (Helen Blair), her father (Clifton Blair) and her brother (George Randall Blair). She was a native of southern Calif. where she met her husband Eugene (Gene) Bates In the 7th grade. They were married on July 24, 1960. Together they had 3 wonderful children. Tyrun Eugene Bates of Morrow, AR, Doty Denise Bates Allen of Fort Smith, AR and Heather Ruth Bates Young of Kankakee, IL. Roberta adored all 12 of her grandchildren and her 6 great grandchildren.
Roberta and Gene moved to their farm outside of Morrow, AR in July of 1975. Roberta became a substitute teacher for Lincoln AR schools where she was known as ‘Mom’ to many students. Roberta also worked for “The Lincoln Leader” as a photographer and Journalist. She had a love for writing and telling stories. Roberta was a friend, a homemaker, a Wonderful loving mother and adoring wife.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Heather, I was sorry to hear of your sad loss of your wonderful mother. We made a friendship watching you and Cinnamon grow up as friends and competitors in sports and gymnastics. I also bought soap from her and of course enjoyed her from the paper she was quite a lady and will be missed. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Allyne Bottoms

Dear Gene, Ty, Doty, Heather, and Family....
I dont remember when i met Roberta but have had enough conversations with her to learn of her wit, her love of family, her unwavering faith in God, and her practical view of life.
I am planning on attending her memorial service. If for some reason my plans fall through just know my prayers are with you.
