He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Haskell, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his wife Vinita Sparks, one brother, Leo Sparks and one sister, Myrtle Bullington.

Survivors include one daughter, Martha Sparks of Haskell, Oklahoma; one brother, Guy Sparks of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; one grandchild, Hannah Sparks of Haskell, Oklahoma.

Funeral Service will be held Friday September 28, 2007 - 10:00 a.m. at the Dutch Mills Cemetery Pavilion in Dutch Mills, Arkansas with Ernest De Soto officiating. Burial will be in the Dutch Mills Cemetery at Dutch Mills, Arkansas.
