Imogene Hutchison Delap died June 6, 2018. She was born November 8, 1921 in Aledo, Oklahoma, the firstborn child of William McKinley Hutchison and Bertha Fred Hutchison. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Curtis R. Hutchison and Dale O. Hutchison, and her husband of 62 years, Darwin D. Delap whom she married at the Prairie Grove Baptist Church in February, 1943. For most of her adult life she was a homemaker and volunteered as a consultant with the Southern Baptist Convention’s Sunday School Board teaching library science to prospective church librarians in Glorieta, New Mexico, and Ridgecrest, North Carolina. For many years during retirement she was the church librarian at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. She is survived by her daughter, Dale Delap Beals, her son, John, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are handled by Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15 at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville under the direction of Dr. Doug Falknor, pastor.
