Southerland, who died November 9, 1906, filed Widow Application #13564 with the Confederate Pension Board of Washington County for a Confederate widow pension and it was received as allowed August 13, 1910 at the State, citing her husband’s service with Company E, 11thGeorgia Cavalry from 1861 thru 1865.
