Rhonda Mae Springstead was born on November 7, 1953 in Limestone, Maine to her parents Ken and Mary Butler. On May 19, 2026, at the age of 72, dearest Rhonda moved from Circle of Life in Springdale, Arkansas to her Heavenly Home in the sky. Rhonda lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion and faith. She attended Hale Mountain Holiness Church for many years, where she faithfully served as a piano player, a singer in the choir, a floor scrubber, or in whatever capacity she felt was necessary at the time. Her love, service and dedication for God, her church, and church family, was the center of her life. She found her calling as a Reading Interventionist and served in that role for approximately 12 years at Cave Springs School. She inspired and motivated many young students to overcome academic struggles to become proficient and confident readers. Every student there loved Mrs. Springstead, and would let her know often. Rhonda’s joy was being with friends and sharing laughter and sometimes surprising wit that portrayed her real personality. She especially loved singing with a not-so-well known trio, ‘The Silver Sisters. She and her cousin performed an unforgettable song that the whole family talked about through the years. Rhonda loved making beautiful hand-made quilts she meticulously stitched for her children, grandchildren and even great- grandchildren to enjoy. Rhonda was also famous for her chocolate cream pie that would vanish without a crumb left, along with her waterless chicken that was the first request at every family gathering. Rhonda loved the Lord with all her heart and treasured her family as one of God’s greatest blessings. Her faith, love, and gentle spirit will remain with us always. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken & Mary Butler, and her dear nephew Gerald Wayne Phillips. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Alan Springstead, who devoted his life caring for her daily with unwavering love and dedication, his daughter, Tina, and her husband, Lee Miller, of Cayce, South Carolina. Her survivors include her daughter Kandra and her husband Chris Brown, Kandra’s sons, Tanner Hughes and Aaron Johnson and his sons Jace and Lincoln; Rhonda’s daughter Karrie Smith and her sons, Cody Beemer and Dustin Beemer and his wife, Haley, and their sons Ryder and Riggin; Rhonda’s son Steven Smith and his wife, Brittany, and their children, River and Lainey, Steven’s daughter Emily and her husband, Forrest Dobbs, and their girls, Sage and Maebry. Rhonda is also survived by her sister, Peggy, and her husband, Gerald Phillips; her brother, Kenny Butler, and his wife, Debbie; and her brother, Danny Butler, and his wife, Carla, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Barbara ‘Barb’ Anderson, who was a lifelong friend and a treasured part of her life.
