Burgess, Maggie_04_27_1916 Mrs. John B. Burgess Died at Walnut Grove. Mrs. Maggie Burgess, wife of Mr. J. B. Burgess, died at her home at Walnut Grove Thursday, April 27, at 9 p. m.. after a lingering illness of fever and other complications. The deceased was a daughter of the late Carrol! Tollett and wife, and was born at the home in which she died, Aug. 11, 1874. On Jan. 22, 1905 she was united in marriage with John Burgess, and to this union was born a son. Mrs. Burgess was a charter member of the Presbyterian church at Walnut Grove, and was a devout Christian woman, ever ready to do her share of church work, to help her friends and neighbors when sickness and sorrow came to them, and she will be deeply missed in her church and in the community, and sadly missed in the home. Beside her husband and eight year old son, she is survived by two brothers and one sister, Henry Tollett of King City, Cal., Bud Toliet of Wentworth, Mo., and Mrs. Emma Dorman of Thornton, Wash. The funeral services took place from the Walnut Gove church Friday afternoon. Rev. E. M. Freyschlag officiating, and the interment was made at Cemetery Hill.
