John William Calhoon 83, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born October 31, 1934 in Crosses, Arkansas, the son of Sam and Dolly (Walker) Calhoon. John served in the United States Army and was a well known Welder. He loved his grand kids dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters Callie Massie, Eunice Layton, Maurice Bray, Zona Frisby, Dixie Blevins, Bernice Hall, and Laverne Mercklin. Survivors include children John and Julie Calhoon, Dena and Vale Mendez and Toby McGee; one sister Florence Drain; six grandchildren Valerie Sisco, Travis Mendez, Jessika Calhoon, Jason Calhoon, Justin Calhoon and Mallory McGee.
