Pierson Eli Skelton born September 15, 1933 passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, knowing the love of his family and leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, service, and devotion to those he loved. As a young man, Pierson proudly served his country in the United States Army with the 9th Infantry Division. Stationed in Germany during the years following the Korean conflict and at the beginning of the Cold War, he was part of a stabilizing peacekeeping force dedicated to preserving freedom and maintaining peace. He remained proud of his military service throughout his life and was honored to be called a veteran. For many years, Pierson faithfully served as an Elder at the Lincoln Church of Christ. He was always willing to serve wherever he was needed-leading singing or quietly taking on any responsibility asked of him. His steadfast faith and servant’s heart touched the lives of many within his church family. Pierson spent more than 40 years as a truck driver, providing faithfully for his family through dedication and hard work. Although he took great pride in his career, his favorite work was farming. He found peace and satisfaction in working the land and caring for God’s creation. Above all else, Pierson was a devoted husband and father. He shared more than 55 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Billie Skelton. Together they built a home filled with faith and love while raising eight children. His greatest joy was his family, and he treasured every moment spent with his twenty nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren. Pierson will be remembered for his humble spirit, unwavering faith, strong work ethic, quiet strength, and willingness to help anyone in need. He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory and strive to honor the example he set. Though he will be deeply missed, they find comfort in knowing his faithful journey has led him home to be with the Lord. Pierson Eli Skelton is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Eli Skelton and Priscilla Fay Skelton (Anderson); one son, Loren Scott Skelton; his siblings, Delia Stephens, Blanche Wolfenbarger, Keith Skelton, Arthur Skelton, Quentin Skelton, Naomi Bradley, Louise Gillespie, Rose Wagner, Lawrence Skelton, Dwain Skelton, and Donald Skelton. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Billie Skelton; children, Jake Skelton and wife Monica, Tina Henry and husband Max, Aaron Skelton and wife Gina, June Brosius and husband Mike, Norman Barker and wife Robin, Timothy Barker and wife Vicki, Jason Skelton and wife Teresa, and Kayle Osburn and husband Randy.
