Andrew Thomas D. Barron Joseph L. and Flemmon (Femmon) Sharp Barron came from Campbell County, Tennessee to the Washington County, Arkansas area about 1848. Joseph was the son of Joseph and Sarah Murray Barron and was born about 1800 and died in 1897. Flemmon was the daughter of Richard and Nancy Sharp (maiden name unknown). She was born about 1802 and died about 1876. The Barron land was in Section 11, Township 14, Range 31 West. They are listed in the 1850 census in the Mountain Township. They were the parents of thirteen children: Calvin, Nancy, (they both remained in Campbell County, Tennessee) Hiram, John Alford, Andrew Thomas, Richard S., Joseph, Lewis, Emily, Flemmon, Elizabeth, William Marion and James Madison. My ancestor is the fifth child, Andrew Thomas D. Barron. He was born about 1830 in Campbell County, Tennessee and died on October 16, 1865. He married Wincey Carmelia Stevenson on January 23, 1851 in Washington County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Samuel and Nancy Pittman Stevenson and was born about 1832 and died in 1909. She is buried in the Sharp Cemetery in Prairie Grove. It is my belief that she is buried beside Thomas, but I have not found a record of his burial place. Their daughter, Nancy Barron Hill Thurman is buried beside her. One tombstone marks the graves of Carmelia, Nancy and John Hill, the husband of Nancy. Andrew Thomas and Carmelia had five children: Lavina, Lamesa Madeline, William Ferrell, Nancy F. and Calvin J. Barron. My great-grandfather was William Ferrell. He was born June 15, 1857 and married Annie Elizabeth Morrison on July 18, 1881. The place of residence listed on their marriage license was Billingsley. Annie was the daughter of James Richard and Elizabeth Brotherton Morrison. She was born January 12, 1863. They had eight children, the first six being born in Washington County. They moved to Grayson County, Texas about 1894 where William engaged in farming until his death, January 27, 1908. Annie continued to live with her son, Macie until she died February 9, 1932. Their children were: Nora Ethel, Macie Rellas, Willie Ommer (died as an infant) Virgil, Avery, Ada, Minnie Alma and Henry Clay. Nora Ethel was born December 24, 1883 in Prairie Grove. She was my grandmother, only four-feet-eleven-inches tall, but full of love for her family. Nora married Samuel Lee Gurley on September 15, 1901 in Grayson County, Texas. Sam was the son of Daniel Woodard and Mary Jane Fielder Gurley. They had two baby boys that died as infants and one daughter, Eunice Pearl born on June 17, 1911 in the Farmington Community of Grayson County. Sam died in 1935 and Nora died on December 18, 1957. Eunice married George Clay Hall on July 28, 1928 in Denison, Grayson, Texas. George was the son of Wilburn Henry and Minnie Porter Hall. Eunice died January 5, 1970 and George died August 17, 1972. They had two children, Donald Everett and Margie Nell. Donald was born July 2, 1929 in Sherman, Texas and married Peggy Ann Moore on October 24, 1953. Peggy was the daughter of Gary Autrey and Nell Craven Moore. They had three children: Denis Don, Hal Lynn and Bettye Diane. Donald died March 13, 1976. Denis married Regina (maiden name unknown) in May 1984 and they had a daughter, Samantha Lynn, born August 12, 1986. Betty Diane married Doug Wright September I, 1984.
