Albert D. Sparks, 87, of Huntsville died February 9 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Born January 13, 1893, at Loy, he was the son of James M. and Eva Park Sparks. He was a retired stave mill operator, World War I veteran and member of Huntsville Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alberta Keeling Sparks on January 12, 1962. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Era Stamps Sparks of the home; a son, Elton Sparks of Huntsville; five daughters, Rema Kay Easley of Springdale, and Golda Skaggs, Imogene Sparks, Mary Bolinger and Roberta McElhaney of Huntsville; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 3 p.m. Monday, February 11, at the Huntsville Church of Christ with Bill Hooten officiating. Burial was in Alabam Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Butch Bolinger, Truman Skaggs, Phil Sparks, Everett Hill, Jr., Jamie Sparks and Arnold Luttrell.
Honorary pallbearers were R. G. Howard, Leland Lewis, Ernest Spurlock and Gerald Warren.
