Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Brashears Funeral Chapel for William Thomas Rogers, aged 57, who passed away at his home here in Huntsville, September 29, after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Rogers was a victim of cancer.
He was born May 2, 1898, near Japton, the son of J. J. and Sarah Nelson Rogers. He was married to the former Miss Zola McChristian of Japton. To this union were born two children. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by: one son, Kennan Wayne of the home; one daughter, Mary Ruth Rogers, of Fayetteville; three brothers, Fred Rogers of Fayetteville, Scott Rogers, Durham, and Miles Rogers of Japton: four sisters, Mrs. John Spurlock, Mrs. Searles Johnson, and Mrs. Nolan Harriman of Japton and Mrs. Nettie Hogg of Fayetteville.
Justin Garrett, Church of Christ minister conducted the funeral service with burial in the Grose cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Junior Cline, Wayne Cline, Jim Hargis, Bob Gage, Harley Phillips, and Harley Gilliam.
