Randall was born September 24, 1944, in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the son of William Edgar Baker and Arizona “Zona” Mae Richardson Baker. He made West Fork his home for 61 years and became a beloved and longtime member of the community. Randall worked faithfully for more than 30 years as a master electrician for the University of Arkansas, where he developed many close friendships with coworkers and colleagues over the years. He was known for his friendly demeanor, strong work ethic, and willingness to visit with just about anyone. Randall was a Christian whose faith was an important part of his life. He loved his family deeply and especially enjoyed simply sitting around with family and friends, visiting, telling stories, and reminiscing about years gone by. Time spent together mattered to Randall, and those conversations, stories, and memories became a treasured part of life for those who knew and loved him. Randall was preceded in death by his parents, William Edgar and Zona Mae Baker; his brothers, Victor Baker, Norman “Bud” Baker, and Buford Baker; and his sister, Yvonne Baker Hutchison. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Baker, of the home; his son, Randall Wayne Baker and wife Jodie, of Greenland, Arkansas; his daughter, Tacie Baker Johnson and husband Chad, of Farmington, Arkansas; his grandson, Connor Johnson and wife McKenzie, of Farmington, Arkansas; his great-grandchildren, Landon and Halle Beth; his sister, Connie Baker Freriks, of Stinnett, Texas; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Randall’s legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friendships he treasured, and the community he called home for more than six decades. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his friendly nature, his love of a good visit, and the stories and memories he so enjoyed sharing with those around him. Most importantly, his family finds comfort in the Christian faith Randall held and in the wonderful and sweet memories of a life well-lived. They are thankful for 81 years of his life and for the memories they will continue to share and treasure. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of Randall’s life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather together to remember him, share stories, and enjoy the kind of fellowship and reminiscing that Randall himself loved so much. There will be a private graveside service at Baptist Ford Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
