J.A. Rainwater, 84, of Van Buren passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 in a local hospital.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War as an MP stationed in Arlington, Virginia. He retired as a butcher for Piggly Wiggly Foods, Hays Foods and C.V.’s IGA Food Stores. He was a member of the Cedarville First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Van Buren Masonic Lodge.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Wallace E. Rainwater and Jessie (Graham) Rainwater; and a brother, Wallace Graham Rainwater.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, Arkansas under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of 65 Years, Joann (Lollis) Rainwater of the home; a daughter, Lou Ann Cagle of Alma; a son, Larry Rainwater and wife, Candace Rainwater of Muldrow, Oklahoma; a sister,
