Attended Texas Tech University on a football scholarship, played on the 1938 Texas Tech team in the Cotton Bowl. He Played professional football for the Chicago Cardinals, who won the NFL World Champinship in 1947. He was in the oil and gas business in Midland and ranched in Howard Texas.
