OBITUARY: MRS. MARY A. MOODEY DEAD
Mrs. Mary A. Moodey, widow of Judge James C. Moodey, of St. Louis Mo., died at her home on West Main street Sunday night at 9:45, after an illness of about three weeks with grippe,folleowed by typhoid pneumonia. Her death was agreat shock to the community, for while it was known that she had been critically ill yet she had improved so much that her recovery was confidently expected. Her heart had become weakened however and on Sunday it was noticed that she was in a greatly prostrated condition. Toward evening she began to sink rapidly and several hours before her death became unconscious, in which condition she remained until the end came. The funeral took place this (Thursday) morning at 10:00 o'clock, Rev. W.A.McCarrell officiating, assisted by other ministers of the town. Interment was made in Spring Hill. Mrs Moodey leaves three children: Mr. James C. Moodey of Minneapolis, Mrs. Carrie Whorley of Chicago, and Mrs.
Elizabeth Shelley, who lived with her mother in Shippensburg. She also leaves one step-daughter, Mrs. Critchell of Chicago.
The surviving brothers and sisters are Messrs. James H. and Joseph P. Rankin of Pittsburgh, Mrs. John R. Miller, and Mrs.Anna Hayes, of Carlisle; Mrs. george V. Johnston, and Mrs.
J.A.C. McCune of Shippensburg. A brother, Dr. David Nevin Rankin,died only three weeks ago.
