Obituary Notice: Betty, a longtime resident of Chester was a homemaker, but many will remember her for writing the Chester news columns for the Press Argus and Washington County Observer for several years. She drove a school bus fo rthe Mountainburg School District for nine years, worked as a beautician and was the officer in charge of the Chester post office for 10 years. Betty was extremely interested in genealogy and preserving the history of the area. She published one of her scrapbook collections under the title of "Chester Now and Then 1800-2000" which was soled several undered copies. She was a member of the Chester Freewill Baptist Church and the Golden Chapter of the Eastern Star.
