The Morning News, Dec 23, 1996 Obit: Vol William Smith, 85, of Lowell, AR, died Dec. 21, 1996, at his home. He was born at Hoover to Robert Allison and Bertha Jackson Smith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Vaughn and the First United Methodist and was retired after 30 years with Al Johnson Construction Co. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Rankin Smith of the home; two daughters, Beverly Kay Burgess of Birmingham, AL and Bertha Ann Millsap of Dallas, TX; two grankchildren; three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial will be in Barron Cemetery at Vaughn. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
