RESEARCH CORRECTION (22 AUG 2026): This Finis Shannon, born about 1840, is a separate person from Finis M. Shannon (I53682). He is a son of Alexander Shannon andPerniza Oliver and a first cousin of I53682 because Alexander and Granville Billingsley Shannon were brothers. The 1850 Vineyard Township census places this Finis, age about 10, in Alexander and Perniza Shannon's household, while Finis M. Shannon, age about 7, appearsseparately in Granville and Unity Shannon's household. Do not associate this individual with the 1868-1869 Shannon-Fisher feud unless new primary evidence establishes otherwise. Compiled Shannon family research reports adeath about 1861 in Arkansas; that death remains secondary/unverified and has not been added as a firm event here.
