Lee Roy Martin of Miami, OK passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. He was 77. Lee Roy was born July 17, 1938 in Picher, OK to Howard and Ida Martin. He had lived in Picher most of his life before moving to Miami in 2008. He graduated Picher High School 1956 and graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore, OK. He worked co-owner and operator of Martin’s Grocery in Picher, OK and was a distributor for Canada Dry. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Miami, OK and former member of the Miami Elks Lodge No 1320 and the Corvette Club in Joplin, MO. Lee Roy was preceded in death by his wife June Martin July 26, 2002, his parents and a sister Dixie Lee Martin. Survivors include 3 sons Larry Martin and wife Cindy of Iola, KS, Eric Martin and wife Jodi of Fayetteville, AR and Keith Martin of Austin, TX, his daughter Karmen Gotcher and husband Shawn of Tulsa, OK, his brother Max Martin of Miami, OK, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Monday, July 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Miami, OK. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami.
