Anita Cheryl (Tomlinson) Sweigart, born December 6, 1958, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away on her birthday, December 6, 2025, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of Omar Tomlinson and Josephene (Meadors) and grew up in Winslow, where she graduated from Winslow High School in 1977. She was a cheerleader, a dedicated student, and someone who made friends everywhere she went. Anita married Carl Sweigart in 1978, and life only got fuller from there-two daughters, plenty of laughter, and eventually the grandchildren who completely stole their hearts. Anita is survived by her husband, Carl; her daughters Ashley Taylor (husband David) of Prairie Grove and their children Brooks (10), Campbell (6), and Ford (4); and Hayley Long (husband Wesley) of Prairie Grove and their children Millie (6) and Benton (4). She is also survived by her cousin, truly more like a brother-John Schader, and his wife Michelle of Brannon Mountain. Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Omar and Josephene Tomlinson, and by James Piatt. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, Anita worked as the secretary for Franklin and Son Roofing. Once her girls arrived, her days were happily spent raising them, keeping the home running, and later caring for her own mother when she needed it. No matter what season of life she was in, Anita was the person making sure everyone else was taken care of. To her five grandchildren-and all their friends, classmates, and teammates-Anita was “Lollie.” She showed up everywhere: in the stands, behind home plate, on the sidelines, always with snacks, drinks, and encouragement for every kid who crossed her path. She loved putting together little surprises, holiday treats, and goodies for their entire classrooms. Gift-giving was absolutely her love language. She had an unmatched memory for birthdays, anniversaries, and every meaningful date in the lives of the people she loved. You could always count on a call, a card, or a perfectly chosen gift-because loving her people was what she did best. Lollie also had a big heart for supporting the PG Backpack Program, which sends students in need home with meals each weekend. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to the PG Backpack Program at Prairie Grove Elementary School, 801 Viney Grove, Prairie Grove, AR 72753, or through their Venmo @PGBackpack-Program Visitation will be 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Thursday, December 11th, 2025 at Moore’s Chapel, 206 W Center St., Fayetteville, Arkansas. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, December 12th, at Prairie Grove United Methodist Church, 1401 E Parks St., Prairie Grove, Arkansas with a private burial to follow at Brentwood Cemetery in Winslow, Arkansas under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.
