ABERCROMBIE, Margaret Amanda (Pollock) MOUNT – Mrs. Abercrombie Dead – Mrs. Margaret Abercrombie, widow of the late J.L. Abercrombie, died at the home of her son, Clifford Abercrombie, at Avent, Oklahoma, Tuesday July 15, of cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Abercrombie’s home was in Greasy valley, southwest of Prairie Grove and at the time of her death was visiting her son in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Abercrombie was born May 13, 1846. She was united in marriage with Mr. J.L. Abercrombie October 5, 1871. To this union were born eight children, four sons and three daughters, seven of whom survive her. She is also survived by two brothers and one sister.
The body was brought to her home in Greasy valley Wednesday evening and the funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock, conducted by her former pastor, Rev. H.A. Armstrong, and the burial made in the cemetery in Greasy valley. [Prairie Grove Herald 7/17/1919]
