James Edwin Rankin

James E. Rankin, 82, of Morrilton, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011. He was born September 16, 1928, in Robertstown, AR, son of Barton Edwin Rankin and Mattie Lenora Barrett. Employed with Caterpillar Tractor Co. as a Plant Metallurgist in Decatur, IL for 30 years and retiring in 1982. He was a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and played electric guitar in church. Mr. Rankin attended First Assembly of God in Morrilton.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita Stracner Rankin of Morrilton; son, Barton Edwin Rankin and wife Sandra of Morrilton; daughter Kimberly Richardson and husband Gregory of Morrilton; one grandson, Christopher James Boren and wife Carrie of Atkins; step granddaughter Hannah Richardson of Morrilton; and step great-granddaughter Bailey Blake of Atkins.

He was preceded in death by siblings, J. C. Rankin, Alvin Rankin, Ruth Porter, Annie Lefler, and Loweda Harrelson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at the Harris Chapel with Rev. Lenora Allison and Rev. Paul Doan officiating. Burial will be at Robertsville Cemetery by Harris
