WILLIAM POSTON, b. 1779, d. 5-12-1848, bur. Old Union Cemetery, Cincinnati,

Ark. Age 69 years. Wm. Poston's grave is covered by a solid 4'x6' rock which stands

about 12" above the ground. It is a remarkable monument. W. C. (William Carroll)

Poston, b. 1817, d. 10-22-1858, dur. Old Union Cemetery, Cincinnati, Ark. Age 41

years. The Poston's were one of the very earliest pioneers to come into this area. Their

acquired lands were extensive. It is reputed that they had cotton plantations and

owned slaves to work the crops.
