Carrie Reanell "Rainy" Laycox, 80, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born October 5, 1945 in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of James Theo and Luedell (Oden) Haywood.
She is preceded in death by her spouse Russell Lyndon Laycox.
She is survived by one son, Damon Laycox (Katryn); two grandchildren, Kierra and Mitchell Laycox; and two great-grandchildren, Lariza and Rebel.
Rainy had a quite a zest for life and loved her people fiercely. She believed in supporting her community. She and Russ were active members of the Lincoln Methodist Church for many years. She also served as the director of the Lincoln Apple Harvest Beauty Pageant for 25 years.
She loved Elvis Presley, her home baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and anything to do with NASA and the space program. She would tell you that God called her to pray for every launch, and she did, beginning with the very first Mercury missions to the most recent Artemis II launch earlier this year.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 19, 2026, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at Revival Tabernacle Church in Springdale, . Burial will be in the Sugar Hill Cemetery in Lincoln, Arkansas.
