James Akin Tygart
James Tygart passed away at home on January 28, 2026 in Cabot, Arkansas. He was born in Cabot on June, 19, 1940 the son of Jim and Jessie (Mabry) Tygart.
James worked and retired from Campbell Soup in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing and being outside or just driving his Ford truck. He loved being around family and big gatherings, especially when food was involved. He loved his family reunions.
James was proceeded in death by his parents, three brothers: Vann Tygart, Sherman Tygart, Bill Tygart, two sisters: Shirley Cates, June Wiggs, his daughter Sandra Smith, and many family members.
James is survived by three of his children: Jerry Tygart, Kenneth Lynn Tygart, Tammy Greenway,
his sister and caregiver Carolyn Langley, brothers Bobby Tygart, Archie Tygart, Roy Tygart, numerous grandkids, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside service will be held at Old Austin Cemetery on Hwy. 319 in Austin, Arkansas on
Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00pm with Brother John Powell officiating.
