Jeremiah “Jeremy” Joseph Robertson, 40, a resident of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, passed away Monday, October 26, 2026 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born February 27, 1986 in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Kirk and Joyce (Palmquist) Robertson.
Jeremy was raised in and around Omaha, NE surrounded by his 6 siblings, both sets of grandparents, his mother and step-father, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. After graduating from Elkhorn High School in 2004, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served for five years as an infantryman, attaining the rank of sergeant. His service included being stationed at Fort Drum, New York, with the 10th Mountain Division and nearly two and a half years in Iraq over two deployments.
In 2007, Jeremy met the love of his life and the mother of his children, Erika Steele. Erika was a flight attendant based out of Salt Lake City and Jeremy was stationed at Fort Drum. For their first date, they met in Syracuse, New York, and he wined and dined her at Niagara Falls. Shortly thereafter, Jeremy returned to Iraq for a 15-month deployment as their relationship continued. By the end of 2008 they were engaged. They married on St. Patrick's Day March 17th, 2009.
After leaving the Army, Jeremiah attended the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Jeremy and Erika welcomed their first child Alexandria, in October 2011, followed by Josephine in June 2013.
After graduating college, the family moved to Omaha NE for a brief stint while Jeremy worked for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and was one of only a handful of scientists who handled the Ebola virus patients in the US. The family then moved to Tennessee, where they welcomed their third daughter, Ashton, in September 2015.
In 2018, the family moved to Minneapolis following Erika’s airport transfer, then settled in bucolic Prairie Grove in 2020. Erika continued as a flight attendant until 2023, giving Jeremy and the girls opportunities to travel around the world making transatlantic memories together. Jeremy traveled to six continents, 41 countries, 47 states, and two shires.
As the family moved, Jeremy continued his career at nearby Veterans Affairs hospitals until his retirement in 2024. In retirement, he helped Erika homeschool their daughters and enjoyed outdoor hobbies like boating, biking, hiking, and, of course, riding his motorcycle. He became a familiar neighborhood fixture on his early morning walks with the girls and was cherished by his Wednesday night Bible Study group.
He is preceded in death by his soldier, Private 1st Class George J. Howell who lost his life on December 21st, 2007 near Hawijah (outside of Baghdad). He is also preceded in death by his grandfather, James Palmquist, his grandfather, Jed Robertson, his father Kirk Robertson, his grandmother, Joyce Robertson, his-brother-in-law, Kevin Steele, and many other friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Erika Robertson; their three daughters, Alexandria Robertson, Josephine Robertson, and Ashton Robertson; his mother, Joyce Garrison and her husband, David; his stepfather, Don Meyer; and six siblings, Dustin Demaray and wife, Annette, Matthew Robertson and his wife, Nicole Drumheller, Benjamin Meyer and his wife, Megan, Zachary Meyer, Alexander Meyer, and Rachel Meyer and husband, Ryan Beck.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 31st, 2026, at Prairie Grove Christian Church in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.
