Jimmie Wayne Sturdy

i will remember Uncle Jim always and miss him, he was in the true sense of the word a "rambler"/free spirit . he traveled all over the country not tied down and enjoying doing what he wanted when he wanted , theres some of that in all of us at times , he just made it happen , i have many fond memories of Uncle Jim ,fishing trips when i was little ,sitting around my grandmas with him,sneeking into his room with Clint looking at the Deep Purple records, and one in particular , i was outside on the porch at grandmas , he pulled up in front of the house on a moped , he had goggles on and his hair was long and really windblown , i remember thinking that is really cool , he hopped off gave me a hug and and never took his goggles off , he will be missed by myself and our family , the strength of my parents have helped to guide Uncle Jim to a place where he left this world at peace with himself and God and i am very thankful for that , miss ya Uncle Jim, we'll walk together on that highway paved with gold someday , see ya cody

Jimmy was one of my best friends growing up in Springdale with many fond memories along the way. Listening to new music in his bedroom at the end of the hall, going fishing and camping with Jimmy and his brother Carlos and playing poker to the early morning hours, smoking little Swisher cigars thinking we were pretty cool. Our lives grew apart after Jimmy's marriage and relationship with Debbie Holt ended. I never understood where his anger came from in those days. They had a daughter, but I don't think she was mentioned in the obituary; a beautiful girl. I hope and pray that Jimmy found peace in the years since I last saw him... which has been many, many years ago. I liked seeing his picture in the paper, he looked good; "older" but I hope wiser. He would be out of pocket for long periods of time, but then would "pop up" from time to time . One time, he simply showed up on my doorstep when I lived in Little Rock and he was without a place to live and no job. He did a great job doing some landscaping work in the backyard, taking his time to do it right, placing the railroad ties for a retaining wall that still stands today as solid as the day he left. I never saw much of Jimmy since that time, but always wondered where he was, how he was doing and if his life may have turned around. I see in the paper that he also had a son. I'm hopeful that he was able to have a good relationship with him and enjoyed his life out in California and Arizona. Jimmy: I pray you got to know Jesus along the way. I'll miss you but I know you are at peace. Terry
