Merrel Steven "Steve" Hamilton, age 74, passed away on September 14, 2025, at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale, Arkansas.
Steve was born on November 13, 1950, in Eugene, Oregon, the son of Merrel Utah Hamilton and Shirley Irene (Smith) Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant son, Brian. He is survived by his sister, Charlotte Prince, and her husband, Bob; his niece, Robin Prince; his nephew, Wade Prince, and his wife, Alex; and two great-nieces, Georgia and Maggie.
Steve retired as Assistant Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol in Artesia, New Mexico, after a long and dedicated career in service to his country.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows for the compassionate care they provided during Steve's time there.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral services will be held.
