Robert Ray Harrell, 94, a resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the State Veterans Home in Fayetteville. He was born July 28, 1931, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Amos and Sarah Irene (Stout) Harrell.
Robert was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid baseball player who was invited to tryouts and Spring Training for the St. Louis Cardinals. He later played in the local men's league for many years. He worked in the automotive industry as an auto body repair technician.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dana Harrell; and one sister, Addie Harrell.
Survivors include one sister-in-law, Vanzetta "Van" Tennant; seven nephews, Mike Tennant, Steve Tennant and wife Sandy, Jeff Tennant and wife Brooke, David Tennant and wife Chris, Fred Tennant and wife Pam, Jason Tennant and wife Allison, and Justin Tennant and wife Katie; and one niece, Johna Howell.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
