Betty J. Rankin, 75, of Van Buren died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Van Buren, attended Independence Freewill Baptist Church in Natural Dam. She was a former employee of Whirlpool. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Rankin, who was bornin 1923 and died in 1995, and a son, David Lynn Rankin. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 5, at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. She is survived by five daughters,5 sons, a brother, 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granchild.
