Uncle Herb always had such an impressive presence it's hard for me to believe he's gone, but I'm so glad that he's not so much gone as he is gone on ahead and now is truly and perfectly experiencing the joy of his salvation.

After watching this video, it is apparent how loved Herb was. Although the years were captured in only minutes in this video, I am confident that he will remain in the hearts of his loved ones forever! There is never enough time when God decides to call, but I believe he is still with you, if even only in spirit. I am truly sorry for your loss, and although I only met him once, the stories of his life, his kindness, his humor, his love for his family are truly etched in eternity. May God comfort you in your loss.

I wish we were still in Arkansas now to be there with all of you. I will miss Uncle Herb with memories of knowing he always had a joke or laugh hiding right under the surface of that smile. For a man that don't remember talking very much, he always had much to say when he was talking to God in prayer, like it was just a conversation between him and Jesus at the dinner table! I remember his voice so well!

We are praying for you all and miss you much.

I will miss the big smile of my big Uncle Herb who in my mind was always the real life Paul Bunyan. My prayers and thoughts are with everyone and I wish I could be there. Mama West taught me to read the Daily Bread and appropriately on the day he passed was the poem

When Jesus died upon the cruel cross, "This is the end," thought many standing by; But we can put our faith in what HE said: "If you believe in Me, you'll never die."
