Hollis Walberg Barker, 90, a resident of Lincoln, Arkansas, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born August 19, 1935 in Ipswich, South Dakota, the son of Dorsey Arnold and Blanche (Walberg) Barker.
Hollis grew up in South Dakota and worked with his dad in the grocery business in Cherry Creek, South Dakota. Joined the Air Force and was in Korea during the Korean conflict. Honorably discharged July 1963. Married the love of his life, Verla Louise Fields, August 25, 1968. They owned a grocery store called Jack and Jill in Dupree, South Dakota. In 1975 they moved to Lincoln, Arkansas, bought an apple orchard and chicken farm. Hollis worked many years for Harps Grocery and worked on the farm. He was a Devote Christian and member of First Baptist Church, Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 55yrs. Verla Barker; brothers Darrell, Dean and Bob; and one sister, Delores.
He is survived by four children, Lynne Uselton (Dewayne), Lance Barker (Christi), Toni Phillips and Kerri Brown; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, 2026, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 14th, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Lincoln, Arkansas. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas. No graveside service will be held at the cemetery.
