Joyce Dunlap Graves

Age 75, a resident of West Fork, Arkansas, passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born December 9, 1944 in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Granville F and Lola Mae (Lucky) Buchanan.

Joyce retired from Bell Telephone Service after a career as an evaluator.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepson Jamie Graves.

Survivors include her husband Jim L. Graves of the home; her son Rocky Lee Dunlap and his wife Roxanna of West Fork, Arkansas; three step children Kimberly Graves, Teresa Glenn and her husband Steve and James Graves and his wife Nikishas; her sister Joan Robertson and her husband Dave of Sarcoxie, Missouri; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

To every family member, sympathy and love from the St. Louis Dayton-Nelson's. My older brother Ed, 2 years younger than Joyce, and I Debbie, 7 years younger. We had the chance to get closer to Joyce than the other Nelson kids when she lived with Grandma and Grandpa Dayton. She was an operator then. We were older and would visit them sometimes. Ed stayed with them most of one summer. It was exciting for me, I guess in my late teens, to hang out with my older cousin. I remember about the only thing to do in Carthage was to buzz the drive in, Sonic I think, and then get a parking spot and have burgers and shakes! Of course, later on, we got to see everyone at the family reunions. I haven't been for a while (if they still happen). But my husband Larry and I have been on Facebook with Joyce over the last 3 years or so. Learning and hearing about her fight with cancer. She was always sweet to me and always had a smile for me too.
