Phyllis Remah Shipley

76, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away August 15, 2008 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born December 6, 1931 on Bohannan Mountain in Madison, County, Arkansas, the daughter of James Guy and Ruby May Guthrie Logue.

She was a member of the Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Tracy Johnson; two step sons, Ralph Shipley and Curtis Shipley.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Shipley; five children, Jim Shipley of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Harold "Gene" Myers of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Toni Myers of Springdale, Arkansas, Carl Shipley Jr. of Portland, Oregon and Carol Shipley of Springdale, Arkansas; one sister, Guinna Callahan of Goshen, Arkansas; sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 18, 2008 - 10:00 A.M. at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, with Bro. James Goff officiating. Burial will be in the Buckeye Cemetery Wesley, Arkansas. No graveside services will be held at the cemetery

Dear Family & Friends of Aunt Phyllis. I am so very sorry for the heartache that everyone is feeling due to the death of Aunt Phyllis. My Mom kept me informed as to how Aunt Phyllis was doing & needless to say she was broken hearted over loosing her only sister. I am broken hearted as well because I cannot be there to put my arms around you all to help comfort you. The last time I seen Aunt Phyllis was in April of 1996 when I was able to fly out there to be with my Mom & Sisters Sherry, Julie, & Hope & family. I wish that I could be with all of you at this time. Aunt Phyllis embroidered two beautiful pillow cases for me to take home when I seen her last, plus I have some cherished pictures of her & Mom with me, Sherry, Julie & Hope. I am so glad that I had that time with everyone in 96. Please know that although it is hard to take comfort from mere words when your heart is broken over loosing your Mom, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, & friend, she is sleeping until Jehovah says it is time to wake up & we will all be reunited with her again. To her children, my cousins I would like to say that I can only imagine the pain that you must be feeling at this time & my thoughts & prayers are with you all. There are not enough words in the the English Dictionary to describe the LOVE that this woman gave and recieved. She was such a special person in our lives. She was the best of the best and we loved her tremendously!! She will be missed so very deeply from the bottom of our hearts, and she will never be forgotten. We love you MOM and GRANDMA.
