In Loving Memory of Ruth Elizabeth Higginbotham
April 1, 1948 – September 21, 2026
Ruth Elizabeth Higginbotham, a beloved mother, bonus mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2026, at the age of 78.
Ruth was born on April 1, 1948, to Ovia Harper and Vera Opal (Thurman) Higginbotham, both of whom preceded her in death.
Ruth was a sweet, loving, and amazing woman whose heart was filled with love for the people who meant the most to her. Above all else, she loved her daughter, Elizabeth, with all of her heart. Their bond was one of love, devotion, and a connection that will never be broken.
Ruth's love extended far beyond traditional family ties. She cherished her bonus children, David, Camerin, and Thomas, and loved them as her own. She also held a very special place in her heart for her bonus grandbaby, Jerald Raymond, and her beloved fur grandbaby, Freddy.
Family was at the center of Ruth's heart. She had a way of making the people she loved feel accepted, cared for, and important. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on through Elizabeth, her bonus children, her grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Ruth's passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express. But alongside the sadness are countless memories of her love, kindness, laughter, and the special place she held in the lives of her family.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Her life may have ended, but the love she gave will continue through the people she leaves behind.
Those left to cherish her memory
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth; her bonus children, David, Camerin, and Thomas; her bonus grandbaby, Jerald Raymond; and her beloved fur grandbaby, Freddy, along with extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
