I was a young kid when i first discovered her store. I remember walking in and seeing all the books on the wall and the smell of the place. My imagination went wild. It was the greatest place i had ever been inside. In those days i did not know much about books and Wilda was so knowledgeable. I am older now and i often think about that old store and i think about her. I did not know how much she liked books. She could be credited for my fondness of reading because of the work she did and business she owned. I remember the store and i remember her and those are some of the best memories i have. I still remember the last thing i bought from her when she moved from Dickson st to oak plaza. My condolences to the family and apologies for the late post. I just discovered the news. Rest in peace Wilda. Thank you for being a part of my childhood. You are not forgotten.

Bobbie· DaughterSep 27, 2007

My mother was one of the most loving and careing women. I never really heard her say a bad thing about anyone. She loved her children, grand children, and all her extended family including ones far away. She tried to keep in touch with everyone of them in some form. She often talked to me about her friends from the bookstore, especially when she ran into them somewhere, it thrilled her so just to get to talk to them. We had the most wonderful times wen we were together as a family. She loved that so much. She can now go to be with Grandma,Grandpa,Aunt Rene, her little brother Wayne,GM-Keck,GP-Keck,Uncle Omer,Uncle Otto,Uncle Lloyd, Aunt Eva,Uncle Owen,Aunt Ellen, Aunt Bessie,Aunt Bernice,Uncle Elmer,Roy Lee, Helen and all her family members to make our family chain a little closer to being completed again. She was a true inspiration to the word's "MOTHER" "DAUGHTER" "SISTER" "AUNT" "COUSIN" and "FRIEND". A piece of my heart goes with my mother for now a lare part of it is missing. My love will go with her forever as I know her's does.

She will be greatly missed. I felt closer to her than my own grandmother.....and have always felt of her in that sense.....like a kindly grandmother.....I have learned many things about business from Wilda and feel deeply sorry for her family and friends loss. I just wish I had spent more time with her......God Bless you Wilda

I loved going to Rock Bottom and seeing Wilda, on Dickson Street and later in Oak Plaza. Back when variety in books and magazines took effort, Wilda saw to it that a lot of us had a clean, cluttered place to find neat stuff. I probably own a thousand items gotten there.

I'd hoped to be at the service today--consider me there in spirit.

Even though I haven't seen Wilda in many, many years she was the one my sister or I went to when needing family information. Or just to feel the famly connection to our extended family in Arkansas. We all live out here on the West Coast & Wilda was always one to talk with us. She always seemed so warm hearted and loving in nature. My deepest sympathy to her children, grandchildren and brother, Glen. She will be sorely missed.
