Benny (Ben) Matthew Gover
Age 67, a resident of West Fork, Arkansas, passed away April 9, 2024 at Washington Regional Medical Center. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 13, 1956, the son of Everett Scott Gover and Mildred Mae Oglesby Gover.
Ben graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in 1974 and then the University of Arkansas with a degree in Civil Engineering. Ben retired from the United States Public Health Service where he was a commissioned officer. He was detailed to the Indian Health Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael L. Gover; his sister, Carolyn Gover Greener Steele; and a nephew, Matthew S. Howerton.
He is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Mary Jo Berrey Gover; a daughter, Nicole J. Gover Sharp of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; a grandchild, Iver Josephine Sharp of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Gover Howerton and Terry Howerton of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; 3 nephews, Daniel Howerton of Owasso, Oklahoma; David Greener and wife Vickie of Olathe, Kansas; Jon Greener and wife Stephanie of Eudora, Kansas.
Graveside funeral service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 - 11:30 A.M. at the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
