Through my life there are times

When a bond is created

Someone touches your life

And yet not completely understood.

Until someone you know is gone.

Charlie was a friend of mine

How do I begin to tell his tale?

From the old Milwaukee beer he drank

To the stories he chose to share.

He loved his time in the navy

And spoke with a gleam in his eye

He loved his family dearly

That is something nobody could deny.

Summer nights on the deck

That is what I remember most

The mixture of laughter and voices

I can remember it still.

Some of the things that crack me up the most….

Gary West was the pest

And Russell drank his beer

While Henry was a angel

His endless bickering with Brenda dear

His story of Tracey flying into his arms.

He lived his life fully

And shared many stories with me

All of us enjoyed his time

Especially Brenda Lee.

She was always there for him

as we all did what we could

There are so many other stories

That I would like to share, he loved his future

Movie stars and Gretchin made home smile.

It did not take much to make him smile.

I know we all have been missing it in quite a while.

His fondness for his mother

We all felt and understood

Charlie you will be missed by me

And many others too.

The happy times I will remember

God bless and we love you.

With all my love thanks for the memories that will live with me forever.

Charlie,I would like to thank you from the bottom of our heart for being my mother's best friend. I dont even know how many great things she had to say about you. You made her so happy and she loved spending time with you. Her main concern was to make sure you were always okay and had what you needed. So once again thank you for being a dear friend with my mother Brenda. I know she really loved you and your presence and you will be missed deeply. I never was able to get to meet you but I felt like I knew everything about you, I wish I could have had the chance to sit down and have a conversation with you like my mother did many times. You are in a better place now where there are no worries and you can live a better life. Thanks again and you will be missed.

To the Family, I would like to say: We all Loved Charlie in different ways because Charlie was his own man and he lived his life like he wanted to. To him it was a good life and that was the way it was. No one was going to change him and if he did not want to do something, you could bet your bottom dollar he was not going to do it, no matter how much logic you used to persuade him. By the same token, if he wanted to do something no holds barred he was going to do it! Charlie liked people but he also liked his privacy. He would tell you he lived a long and happy life and he was ready to go. I for one am really going to miss you and your wisdoms Charlie.
