Obituary

Charles Willey Washington, 99, a resident of Summers, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 in Springdale. He was born November 1, 1924 in Moody, Oklahoma, the son of Albert Victor and Edith Loretta (Willey) Washington.

Charlie was a member of the Summers Missionary Baptist Church, Korean War Veteran and lifetime member of the American Legion. He was member and past Master of the Cincinnati Masonic Lodge #102, Clearcreek #332, Lincoln #615 and the Winslow Lodge. He retired from rural letter service of 27 yrs with a perfect driving and safety record.

He was preceded in death by his wife Willene Barnes Washington; brothers, Doyle and Ray; sister Gerrie Collins.

Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Bailey and husband Ed, and Charla Reed and husband Tim; four grandchildren, Dale Bailey (Kayla), Amy Egger (Dustin), Matt Reed (Leslie) and Cody Reed; six great grandchildren, Tate Bailey, Addison Bailey, Jensen Reed, Madilynn Reed, Kinley Egger and Hunter Egger; one great-great grandchild, Lawson Egger, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 16, 2024, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, at Summers Missionary Baptist Church in Summers. Burial will be in the Ganderville Cemetery in Summers. No graveside service will be held at the cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the Quail Ridge Nursing Home, Caring Hands Hospice and Circle of Life Hospice.
