Dana Hugh Mattox died early morning on Monday June 11th 2018 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 59. Dana was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma & resided most of his life in Lincoln, Arkansas. He attended school in Lincoln & graduated from Lincoln High School. Dana returned to Arkansas where he worked most of his career in information technology/computer engineering. He was employed at Cooper Communities, Jones Truck Lines, & Car-Mart. He was a gentle soul who enjoyed solitude, being outdoors, camping, & attending an annual float trip with some of his oldest friends. Dana also enjoyed music & reveled in sharing that with his children, often playing “name that band,” with them. He had a good sense of humor & rarely a negative word to say.

Dana is survived by his mother Erma Nunamaker, his brothers Kevin Mattox & Daryn Mattox, his children Kyle Mattox, Korey Danley, & Madelynne Mattox, & his grandson Jasper Danley.

He is preceded in death by his father Darrell Mattox.

I knew Dana for several years, the only time I ever spent with him were brief moments in stores or short conversations in parking lots in town but every time I saw him I left smiling. That's the kind of person he was, passing moments with Dana was and always will be enough to be reminded that there is still good to be found in a world that is far too hard. He shared kindness, it was his nature. Lincoln just won't seem the same. I'll miss him.

Dana was one of my favorite childhood friends. Always funny and kind. I lost track of him after he moved to Tulsa but have thought of him from time to time. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

This is a silly memory:. When Dana was very young and his Mom would wash his blanket and hang it on the clothes line, that's where you would find him in a little while. He would be outside holding a corner. I will miss you! Love you ??
