Obituary

Dorothy Lee Gabbard Kilgore, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was the widow of Melvin LaDon “Don” Kilgore with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Hazel Valley, Arkansas on February 8, 1935, she was the daughter of Lester Coy Gabbard and Gladys Louise Jarnagan Gabbard. She was a graduate of St. Paul High School class of 1954. A forty-five year breast cancer survivor, she worked in the home and shared her love of reading with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved the Lord and always displayed an attitude of humility, grace, and loving gratitude toward all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Betty Rose Gabbard Duncan.

She is survived by her daughter Renita Carol Kilgore Shreve and husband Walter Keith Shreve of Farmington, AR; her son Donald Lee Kilgore and wife Cris Kilgore of Marble, AR; five grandchildren - Amber Shreve Jeffers and husband Evan Jeffers of Lowell, AR; Courtney Shreve and wife Brooklyn Shock of Farmington, AR; Zachary Shreve and wife Tami Shreve of Lowell, AR; Daniel Kilgore of Marble, AR; Crystal Kilgore of Marble, AR; sister Carolyn Jean Kilgore of Fayetteville, AR; brother Buddy Wayne Gabbard of Crosses, AR; brother-in-law Gerald L. Duncan of Delaney, AR; brother-in-law Scott Kilgore and wife Carol Kilgore of Fayetteville, AR; brother-in-law Danny Kilgore and wife Dee Kilgore of Prairie Grove, AR; brother-in-law Dean Kilgore; sister-in-law, Wanda Nelson of Roseburg, OR, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 - 10:00 a.m. in the Farmington Cemetery Pavilion.
