Edna Juanita Maxine Plessinger

1941 — 2026
Obituary

Edna Juanita Maxine Plessinger, 85, a resident of Farmington, Arkansas, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026 in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born April 14, 1941 in Scarbro, West Virginia, the daughter of Jacob Simeon and Connie (Miller) Shortridge.

Edna had a kind and generous heart, and anyone who had the privilege of meeting her quickly came to love her. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her compassion extended to animals as well; she loved them all and was always willing to open her home and heart to a stray in need. Edna was a giving person who lived by the simple belief that if she had something and someone else needed it, it was theirs. Above all, her faith and her family were the greatest priorities in her life, and she treasured the time she spent with those she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Freddie Hoffman Sr., her later in life husband Thurman Plessinger, five brothers, two sisters, and one great-grandchild, Sarah McGuff.

She is survived by her four children, Fred Lee Hoffman Jr. and partner Trisha, Gene Hoffman and wife Theresa, Enola Christensen and husband Mark, and Teresa Twing and husband Anthony; ten grandchildren, Tiffany Duncan, Brittany McGuff, Steven Christensen, Kevin Christensen, Dallin Christensen, Nicholas Hoffman, Cole Hoffman, Courtney Chenevey, Kenyon Twing, and Kamden Hoffman; fifteen great-granchildren, and one brother, Alvin "Bo" Shortridge and Wife Darlene.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 14, 2026, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, August 15th, 2026, with a viewing in the Relief Society room from 9:00-9:30 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Springdale, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “Hope for Hie” or “Autism Involves Me” in honor of Edna’s great grandchildren Daniel and Reyna.
