Jean Garrison passed away October 2026 at the age of 89 surrounded by family. She was born and raised in Northeast Arkansas where she met and married her husband, Jake Garrison. Together they raised their family on a small farm where they installed the values of hard work, love of God and family, and respect for all people.
Jean loved gospel music and loved to sing. In her younger years, she was a member of The Christian Four singing group that sang in churches across Northeast Arkansas and Mississippi. Jean was a member of the Armorel Booster Club and Mississippi County Community College Suns Booster Club. She was also a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) a philanthropic organization that fundraises for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
After moving to Northwest Arkansas, Jean was employed by Arvest Bank where she worked as a loan assistant. She enjoyed working with local builders, prospective homeowners, and businesses. She loved sports and was an avid Razorback fan. On game day, you would always find her in her Razorback shirt while watching the game.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, F.W. “Jake” Garrison, Jr., her parents, J.C. and Ruby Bradley, a granddaughter, Samantha Garrison, and a grandson, Jordan Garrison.
She is survived by a sister, Kyra Lynn Young (Robert), a sister in-law, Helen Hayes (Lenny); her children, Steve Garrison (Kelly), Melisa Yopp (Terry), Brad Garrison (Katherine); her grandchildren, Jarred Yopp (Emily), Timothy Yopp (Leeanne), Brent Garrison (Deanna), Brandon Garrison (Teera), and Alexander Garrison (Teagan); her great grandchildren, Josiah, Samuel, and Sawyer, and many treasured friends.
Jean made Prairie Grove Health and Rehab her home over the last two years due to declining health. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and thankfulness for the amazing team who loved and cared for her in final years. The family also would like to thank Elite Hospice who assisted in her care during her last days.
In lieu of services, the family will be observing a private time of remembrance. If friends and family wish to donate in memory of Jean, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
