June Carolyn Young, age 90, of West Fork, Arkansas, formerly of Prairie Grove and Hope, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1935, in Davis, Oklahoma, to William Riley Jolly and Dove (Field) Jolly.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and woman of faith, June’s life was centered around her love for God, her family, her church, and helping others. She shared nearly 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jack Floyd Young, before his passing.
June earned her degree as a registered nurse in 1955 and spent much of her career teaching and mentoring future nurses, including many years instructing LPN students in Hope and Fayetteville, Arkansas. She also served for many years in the administrative office at Hudson Foods in Hope.
A woman deeply rooted in her faith, June was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Hope. After moving to Prairie Grove, she continued her faith journey with the First Baptist Church of Prairie Grove, and later, the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Floyd Young; her brother, Bill Jolly; and her parents, William Jolly and Dove Jolly Clark.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Kercheval, and her husband Les; her son, Joe Young, and his wife Katie; two grandsons, Michael Young and Nathan Young, and his wife Claudia.
June leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 4, 2025, 5:00-6:00 PM at Luginbuel Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 5th, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Burial will be in the Rutherford Cemetery in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, there will be no graveside services held.
