Wayne Garrett

64 a resident of Greenland, Arkansas, passed away November 28, 2009 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas. He was born July 4, 1945 in Wesley, Arkansas, the son of Marvin and Lottie Jackson Garrett.

Wayne worked at Standard Register for many years and owned and operated a small engine repair shop. He was a retired volunteer fireman for the West Fork Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Laurene Ross and Ruby Taylor.

Survivors include his wife, Rachel Garrett of the home; three sons, Kevin Garrett and his wife, Misty of West Fork, Arkansas, Scott Bartz of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Kyle Bartz and his wife Erin of Springdale, Arkansas; one daughter, Carol Garrett Tanner of Johnson, Arkansas; two brothers, Preston Garrett of Rogers, Arkansas and Keith Garrett of Garden Grove, California; five sisters, Geneva Ross of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Eutha Parkerson of Farmington, Arkansas, Lucille Rhodes of Springdale, Arkansas, Robbie Sullins of Greenland, Arkansas and Nadine Mitchell of Bella Vista, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Garrett of West Fork, Arkansas and Addyson Bartz of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Arkansas.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009 - 2:00 P.M. at the Greenland Church of Christ in Greenland, Arkansas with Preacher Glen Ludwick officiating. Burial will be in Drakes Creek Cemetery in Drakes Creek, Arkansas.

Memorials may be made to the Circle of Life Hospice 901 Jones Rd, Springdale, Arkansas 72762 or the Building Fund at Greenland Church of Christ P.O. Box 158 Greenland, Arkansas 72737.

Pallbearers will be: Joshua Garrett, Caleb Garrett, Gary Sullins, Steve Sullins, Jeff Rhodes and Daniel Bradley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: All Other Nephews

Wayne was one of a kind and helped everybody. Remember the table he fixed, after I put it in the trash. As they said, he could fix anything. He surely will be missed.
