Candace was a wonderful friend, always able to put a smile on my face with her keen wit and wonderful sense of humor. She was a true humanitarian who was full of kindness for her fellow human. She volunteered hundreds of hours for us at Legal Aid of Arkansas over the years, expecting little in return other than the satisfaction she got from helping others and making a difference in their lives. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

I hadn't seen Candace in several years, but I have a lot of really good memories growing up with her and her brothers. There were times when she and I were very close, like sisters. It's sad to know that she's not here anymore. I can't imagine how Warren, Audrey and Dana must feel. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Love, Julie

Who was she?...a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a friend. She was about spirit and heart... she was about caring and accomplishment. There are certain women in our world who have the gift of finding joy everywhere and leaving it behind them when they go. You'll usually find them immersed in their work, or slow dancing with their dreams, or making a difference for all those around them. These are the women who can flood our souls with light and laughter... strength and courage... hopes and dreams. It's not just what they do that sets them apart, it's how they make us feel. She was someone gentle but powerful. Someone whose music washed away the dust of everyday life. Someone who made us laugh when we thought we would cry. Someone who could pick up the pieces and give them back and not always necessarily in all the right order. Someone who paid attention to the little things and added such beauty to the world. Someone who cared. We'll miss you Candace. We couldn't have loved you more, Sam and Eileen~

Although I have never met any of you, Candace shared a lot about herself and her family with me on several occasions. It was obvious to me that she loved you all to no bounds. Candace was always there for me, and any other friend she had, when life was tough. My father passed away unexpectadley about 5 years ago, and Candace talked with me about it at times when it would haunt me. She as well shared some of her losses and pains with me. She was alwyas fun to hang out with, never failing to bring a smile to my face. We will always miss her, but I will never forget her smiling and laughing.

Candace, I haven't seen you in many years. The last I remember, you were a small tomboyish girl, and I was too busy running around playing with Dana and Marty to notice you or my little brother. Today I found out that you grew up to be an artistic, funny, bipolar woman. I'm bipolar too. And I also attempted suicide, but I somehow woke up, and you didn't. Who this illness takes is the luck of the draw. The thing I most wanted my family to understand -- and today I am more thankful than ever that I lived to tell them -- is that it had absolutely nothing to do with them. It has nothing to do with anything but the static and chaos in your head, and how loud it gets, and how hard it is to bear. It's terrifying to be inside this brain with this disease, and no matter how much anyone else loves you, it won't let you love yourself. It won't let you hear them. Sometimes it just gets way too loud in there.

I will be praying for her family and friends during this hard time. She always knew how to make everyone laugh.

Dear Napier family and friends, I am deeply sorry for your loss of Candace and have thought frequently about my memories of her since I received the news. Although I did not know Candace that well, my memory of her is a bright one. She made a lasting impression upon me. I met Candace socially among friends and she was an instant hit with me. She has the wit and humor that leaves a lasting impression. My thoughts and prayers go out to each one of you in this difficult time. May God give you the strength and peace to get to the next day.
